About the Artist

Steve Berger has been an illustrator for over 30 years. Much of his work is in corporate and private collections around the world. An accomplished watercolor artist and calligrapher, Mr. Berger studied under the late Reverend Edward M. Catich, the world-renowned artist and author of, "The Origin of The Serif: Brush Writing and Roman Letters."

This series of U.S. flag paintings was created in an attempt to capture the spirit behind a waving American flag.

Painstaking historical research went into the accuracy of each painted image to ensure historical accuracy. With the help of key sentences from the opening paragraph of the United States Constitution, these paintings are the artist's effort to visually bring to life the words and emotions the United States was founded on.
